Good eye, I'm not a fan on snakes.

I opened the hood and hooked up the battery cables and noticed him slithering out of the hood

Any idea what kind of snake it is?

Oh my God! That thing is huge! It was in the hood?! I don't do snaked either fitz. I probably would have shot it lol.

It's in north Georgia. 

It's just a black snake
 
Not only are they harmless. They are nice to have around
They eat mice and chase off other snakes

Once they get a few years old they are really long and skinny

This guy was over 6 feet long

Once you get over the initial shock of finding a snake under the hood and look at it a minute to determine if it's a poisonous or harmless

The poisonous snakes have a shorter thicker body and a very large triangular shaped head that is noticeably wider than their body

A non poision snake is usually long and thin and the head is about the same size and the body

Wanna see the spiders that are always sitting in the bathroom sink ?

They are harmless too. But still spooky

Snakes and spiders are not the only thing I gotta keep an eye out for have a trail cam in the front porch

If you look close you can see the back bumper of the C-10 in the right side of the pic

and the common household 16 year old , usually accompanied by a  harmless 3 legged dog

Thanks for the Lesson on wildlife. Hopefully next time I see a snake,  I can tell that its harmless before I run away.
I think poisonous snakes are a rare sight  here in Mass, but this is good info to know (and I'm running away regardless).

Yea I'll pass on the snakes and spiders. Bears and bobcats and little brothers are no problem.

Copperheads are the most common poison snake I see

Rattlesnakes are around but not as many

Just remember that 90% of the people that get bit by a snake are harassing the snake at the time

If you just back off and give em some space. They will almost always go somewhere else

Water Moccasins are a different story.   They are very aggressive and will actually come twards you so they can bite you

Haha I saw the snake in the first pic and I was like wow this guy has a fake snake in his hood wonder if he did that just to take the pic....then i kept reading and was like holy crap! I freaked out after I saw it was real i dont like snakes see em all the time in texas but never like seeing them, how funny...i thought it was fake haha
