85 Blazer hardtop glass

The sliding glass on the drivers side of my Blazer is cracked. After reading several posts, it appears very difficult to remove this piece. Is it easier to just replace the sliding windows with a one piece pane?  Where would I find one?

Find a $500 Blazer on Craigslist and offer the owner a few bucks to let you swap roofs,

Thanks for the reply……so if I can't find a swap situation, is there a source for the window etc?

A glass shop can get you the solid glass. Keep in mind, you need both sides for the truck to look right.
You should be able to find a cap with glass on craigslist for $50-$100. There isn't a big demang for them.

I was able to remove the glass from the aluminum frame. Now I just need a new one……it does have a slight curve to it

Have not been able to find individual pieces of glass for the sliding window system. I did find another complete window system off Craigslist. The next problem is finding the weather striping for the "fuzzy" channel that the sliding window rides in.  Mine are old and hard and crack easily and also prevent the window from sliding.

  has the "rubber" but not the fuzzy channel. So at this pint even though I found another sliding window system, there aren't any parts to rebuild them.

I may just have to go with solid windows. How often would the sliding windows be opened?  Not often if they don't slide more than an inch or two!

From what I can tell, the gasket holding the window into the top itself is the same for sliding or solid.

that is why I said if you find one separate, post it as from my knowledge they are not available.
If it is the factory sliders the gasket should be the same.
