Rear differential change

I got an '86 silverado that i recently swapped out the 4.3 to a 350 and am looking to swap out the one tire shredder to a posi unit.  It has  a 10 bolt rearend in it.  What are some good options?  I'd like to avoid spending 500 bucks for a new one so what types of units could i find used?

You can put a Loc-Rite, Tractech EZ locker( PDF info: www.tractech.com/docs/Det...cker03.pdf ), www.powertrax.com/ into a currently open differential to make it lock both wheels under slip conditions.

thanks for the info...i'll definately look into getting one of those now.  have u personally used one to know how well they hold up?

We have ran Loc-Rites in a couple of vehicles with no problems.  The last was a Suzuki Samuari that is running one.

What do you mean by hold up?  What are your intentions/application?

it'll b in my street/strip truck that is turning about 375 hp or so.  I know they're supposed to be good for off road but i haven't heard about street use.
