Carb issue

Hi all,
I picked up a 1975 C30 Silverado last year with a 454.  It has a Holley 3310-4 on it that I'm having some problems with.  I found myself having to use the truck as a daily driver for a few months but with a newborn I just don't have the time to rebuilt the carburetor myself.  I have a mechanic I trust but since it's a time consuming process it is about $400 to rebuild.  At that price I'm thinking I might be better off getting a new one and swap it out myself.  Anyone have any insight as to if the current Holleys are engineered as good or better than those 3310s were?  Or if I'd be better off having them rebuild the 3310.  Thanks!

Regards,
Stephan
