I wonder why you never see any Fords, or Dodges from that vintage.......

I was just thinking the other day as I met two Chevy squares in traffic that I cannot remember the last time I saw a 80~86 Ford. Pre 1994 Dodges just don't exisist on the roads around where I travel either.

It's like the GMs have a cult following or something.

I was thinking that same thing.  It is like all the pre 87 Fords have disappeared and the Dodges rust away.  My father in law has a 1989 D150 and have the bed is rusted away and he is one big pothole away from the rusted frame to break apart.  He wants my 84 I just got but I can't part with it just yet.

This time of year all the old squares are out making a living..I see so many that are still used as work trucks doing fall cleanup. Very few Fords,no Dodges.

We will probably be saying the same thing 10-20 years from now. In 2004 I bought 2 brand new trucks for my Company. A GMC van and a Ford van. I just junked the Ford with 400K on it. It still ran (Diesel) but it rotted off the frame. The GMC is still on the road with 320k on it and no rust at all. If the engine blows tomorrow I would probably fix it because the truck is still all there.

I still see a lot of 70s & 80s Dodges, Fords,, & GMs around my neck of the woods.

might be cause the parts dont swap as easy as ours for the number of years. if you have a good front clip off a 73 and a 79 cab you can put them on a 87 with the bed and be good. try that with a ford or dodge

 Tell that to the 2004 2500 chevy I scrapped earlier this year lol. I pulled the 6.0, but the frame was rotten where the torsion bars mount, and the front axle broke off of the frame.

 Square bodys have a nice old school look, so they get kept, while others get scrapped. Shoot, how many people here have 5 different trucks in one. I like Fords but I dont like them much after 1979. Not how they look anyways.
