305 tbi ticking sound
« on: November 17, 2014, 10:21:40 pm »
I have an 87 custom deluxe with a 305 that has a very annoying ticking sound. It doesn't do it at idle but once you give it throttle it starts doing it. Any help or ideas would be great!

Exhaust leak?

Or is it a mechanical tick like a loose rocker arm?

Have you got headers?  If so, it could just be header slap.
