86 Chevy Scottsdale Dash
« on: November 23, 2014, 02:54:29 pm »
I have a 86 Chevy Scottsdale C20. My dash will not light up, but my radio and ac does. My tail lights and switch are good. Just bought a new switch and hooked it up in case that was the issue. I checked the fuse for "INST" and its good. Any ideas?

If you have no back lights, which I believe is what you mean. It's possible the bulbs are just bad.

If you have no instrument panel lights, then the rheostat on the headlight switch may have some corrosion.

With the headlight switch pulled out, have you tried turning the knob clockwise/counterclockwise? That usually works for me.

Yea if the new switch you got is the headlight switch, make sure it's not turned down all the way to off.

That's the first thing I did. That's how you turn on the dash.
