Front right leaf spring
« on: December 02, 2014, 08:47:42 pm »
Just noticed my top spring on the right front leaf spring is off center by 3" looks like the brackets that holds the leaf spring together snapped off. Can I buy the brackets the "U" shaped bracket that holds the leaf spring together.

hope you got it figured out by now but a spring shop should be able to help you on what you need

Need to get it fixed.    The mis aligned spring will wear into the front hanger
Eventually wearing completely thru the hanger
Seen it on old trucks that get zero maintenance

The previous pictures shows a block under the spring is this considered the lift kit that I have been reading about removing as it's not safe? This picture shows the bottome spring as it continues to rotate I hit back with hammer but it just comes back

that block you see is the spring perch, like capt said it should be welded. on my 1 ton i have 3 springs but they all run eye to eye for the most part.

I have three spring and the truck is a 3/4 ton the last pic shows the lower spring out of line with the two above. Think I will be safe and replace the front springs
