I'd say, if you're wanting to build a short bed 4x4 then that's the route you need to go.

Ditto on the above.  Although I love the looks of a lifted longbed.

If you want a shortbed 4wd.  I'd just buy one

Be a lot less work
Although of you need slot of parts it's always cheaper to get the entire vehicle , strip what you need and sell/scrap The rest

I have a mostly rust free long bed 2wd truck that's gonna wind up at the crusher in a year or so
But it's in GA
