2015 Truck Related Resolutions!
« on: January 01, 2015, 06:53:09 pm »
Hey Guys and Gals,
I wanted to share a couple of my 2015 truck related resolutions, and would love to hear yours! I may also post some progress pics as things get checked off my list!

Here is my current list
1978 heavy half fleetside red (Reddy)

Change diff oil and gasket
Front and rear shocks
Polyurethane Body mounts
Minor rust repair under the bed

Most important of all, fix my quadrajet so that it can start below 60 degrees without several shots of starter fluid and wearing out my starter.

It's gonna be a great 2015!

good list. should keep you busy!

im going to pull the motor out of my 77 c10 and do head gaskets along with just about every other gasket i can while its out. freshen it up with some cleaning any paint, put it back together, and drop it in with a 2200 stall converter.

then depending on how that does i could be getting into fixing the rockers/cab corners/floor pans/doors and be done by spring

Well, I just finished rebuilding the engine in my '90, so I'm pretty well tapped out for awhile. The next purchase is probably a '94 S-10 Blazer 4x4. The Hondas just don't cut the mustard living up here in the hills now.

Sadly, the '86 crew continues in yard ornament status for the time being. :(

I plan on redoing interior, brakes, some tint, and maybe a  bedliner hoping to be done by May then will be starting to think about paint.

These all sound awesome! Please share before and afters! Keep us posted through to 2016!

I'm hoping my 78 will be running and like the day it rolled out of the factory for its 40th in 2018! I've got a ways to go.

My 2015 is ambitious, if I only had time:

1.  Brakes
2.  Replace hood and damaged bed panel.
3.  Body Work
4.  Prime/Paint
5.  Carb Rebuild

Sooooo got the biggest part of my 2015 done! I figured out what the issue was with my carb. Now I need to find a permanent fix. But I was able to get my 78 started with 0 hesitation after sitting for weeks

My resolution this year was to actually get a truck. Now that I have it, I have about 100 more.

New tires
Manual fuel tank switch-over valve installation
De-grease, find and stop any fluid weepage.
Locking diffs, and transfer case.
Body work, lots of body work.
Get AC going
Tighten up steering
New instruments... etc, etc.

I'm budgeting about 300 a month for restoration over and above maintenance.

Every time I fix a leak, I turn around and I got another one! Usually a different fluid every time too!  So this year I would like to fix all the leaks and get them to stay fixed!  Would also like to get body work done, time and money willing.  Currently replacing brakes, rotors, and bearings.

Plan on getting the 85 K5 Blazer I converted to diesel running and driving and hopefully by summer have the 89 4wd converted to 2WD at least rolling, hopefully running.
