? About 3" body lift for 87 3/4ton chevy v20 pickup

 Ive decided to buy a 3" body lift for my truck, and the kit only included the nylon spacers with the bolts.. Its around $108 +shipping. And doesnt include bumper mounts, steering extenders and ground wire extensions.  Where can i find a complete kit that wont have me stranded in my driveway?  Also another question i have is, since it has the floor 4wd shifter, is there a extension i will need for that as well?

I haven't done a body lift on a Chevy, but in addition to the 4wd shifter you'll also need to consider the radiator. It might require dropping.

In some trucks I've also seen engine components become inaccessible after a body lift due to firewalls being moved.

Generally I'd recommend against a body lift unless you have a really specific reason for needing it. A suspension lift is usually the way to go, despite the higher price.

A 1" hockey puck lift is fine and is almost free

But a 3" body lift will create more problems than it solves

Gas filler hose
Radatior hose
Shift linkage
Brake lines from master cylinder to frame
Bumpers

Then your gas tank will be hanging down
Etc
Etc

Thanks for yhe insight guys, i never really thought about the gastanks and other hoses.. Seems to me like itd be a headache :/

It looks cheap at first glance
But it's a pain

You can get longer bolts and slide in some $2 hockey pucks on too of your stock body mounts
For a inexpensive 1" lift

Then do a 2.5 spring lift and you'll have a 3.5 lift with no issues with hoses and linkages and steering components
And a hockey puck lift is not noticeable around the
bumpers unless you look really close
And with a 2.5 spring lift you will likely gain more like 3 or 3.5 since your 40 year old springs are sure to be sagged down some

If you do a 4" lift you will need a new steering arm and
Drop brackets for he sway bar 
Gotta have the driveshafts lengthened Too

Those are never  included in the kits either  not are they mentioned

And some lift kits have shocks in the picture but you read the inventory of the kit and they are not included

Its currently lifted 5.5 by the looks of the rear blocks.. Which i want to get rid of. With this set up i couldnt even run a 37" tire if i wanted cause the front would rub. I would love to run 38" tires on this truck.. So is there a recommendation on what kit i should be looking at for the best results? Shafts? Steering arm, drop brackets? Is there stuff i can make myself? I work in a metal shop so makin brackets may not be hard.

You could do a shackle flip in the rear and 52" springs in the front.

If you want to run 38s
Unless you do a 12" lift.  You're gonna have to trim a little  metal on the fenders

What axle ratio you plan on changing to ?
Gonna need 4.56 or so to run 37-38

3.08 or 3.73 ain't gonna work
And you neither will the wheel bearings in anything less than a Dana 60 front and 14 bolt full floater rear axle
