I wanna cut the very back of my old bed off at the rear posts and mount it to the wall so the tailgate drops down as normal and the lights come on with a switch.

Very cool! I can just imagine going to the bathroom in the middle of the night, rounding the front of that bed and cracking my shin open on that bumper. I'll bet it's already happened a couple times.

  Simple fix.  When you go to bed, leave the taillights on so you can see the bumper...

When the Mrs. saw that photo, she asked "how hard would it be for you to make something like that?"  She already knew that it would somehow wind up into full truck restoration...
