hi guys, new here as far as posting, but been reading through info on chevy trucks
it was work on truck weekend
heres our problem,have a 79 gmc 4 by 4 truck
replaced ignition cylinder in sons truck, and a month later some parts inside column broke so had to use screwdriver to start
decided to rplace column due to not knowing how or what to fix.
out of a parts truck, removed a 83 moldel, half ton steering column, tilt sterring,"old one was straight"
had to change igniton cylinder again due to no key
now have to problems, wont steer fully on direction or other, and wont go into gear! stuck in park
removed bottom linkage from tranny, still no prevail
worked on younger sons truck, his key cylinder was stuck in middle position and wonted move ignition switch rod
so here we go agian, parts store and new ignition cylinder
ill be darned, his truck still wont start, ignition rod moves now, but in the start position nothing
and his truck wont go into gear!!!
have we missed something or made a mistake causing "both tilt" sterring columns to not shift?
please help!!
