Dash bezel year?
« on: January 25, 2015, 01:04:18 pm »
I have a 78 Scottsdale and wanted to upgrade the dash bezel. Unfortunately it doesn't fit. Can I make this fit?

Any idea what year and trim this came off of? Was the open square at top a clock?  I've not seen that before either.

My 1985's have that opening but with the wiper control still in the dash that bezel is correct for 1981-1983

The top hole has 2 warning lights in it.  The only way to get it to fit is change to the newer 81 on up dash pad.

Thanks for the information zieg85. I won't be making that kind of change... should have looked into this first before I bought it, but it was so nice and such a great deal I thought i'd make it work.

If it was a 84-88 I would have taken it off your hands.  It does look like a nice one

FYI it is a diesel bezel due to the top opening.

What do you mean by "top opening?"  Captkaos?

Generally speaking on normal trucks that opening is for the Glow and wait lights for the diesel.
I have seen HD trucks have them but I don't remember what is in them, but typically they are for the diesel setup.

That looks exactly like the bezel on my 83 K10 w/ 350  The top rectangular hole has a Check Engine light, and a blank spot another warning light could be but isn't used
