Radiator Shroud Bolt Size(s)
« on: February 03, 2015, 11:21:14 am »
Just got a new radiator shroud from   for my '75 C10.  I have a radiator out of a similar year Camper Special (the big one).

Anyone know what the bolt sizes/threading for the shroud are on that radiator?

The shroud should be bolted to the core support if you are talking about attaching to the truck.

Ok....that makes sense.  I made a diagram, below to help clarify my question.  I think I understand the top mount.....but still confused about the bottom.

Thank You!!!!

Some just set into clips on the bottom. Others use a U nut clip over the hole in the core support. If you use the U nut, I would suggest new ones as the y tend to not work so well when they are crusty rusty. You can get what ever size bolt, & washer work for the holes, get U nuts to match. I have used 1/4x20 in the past.
Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs

Just as a follow up...I successfully installed the shroud.

The holes in the radiator that I was referring to were tapped and took 3/8" course thread bolts.  However, I didn't need the holes or the bolts on the bottom...I used the clips instead.  Made for a sturdy install and a HUGE difference in temp regulation along with the fan clutch.

Many "Thank You"s for the help, Guys!
