Thanks for the responses friends. As for my vicinity to Hemet, I'm right next door in San Jacinto. The Tcase is 203. With the engine off it shifts freely into all positions except Hi Lock. This is my first rig with manual locking hubs and this particular Tcase so I definitely could be doing something wrong. I figured for normal driving the front hubs should be unlocked and the case should be in high. Am I wrong?

If a part time kit WAS in fact installed part of having it is ensuring you on occasionally run it 4wd to oil the chain. IF this has not been done enough you can destroy a NP203.

The guy I bought it from only owned it for 6 months because it was to much of a project for him. I'm trying to get in contact with the owner before that who dId the diesel-> gas conversion and the 2wd-> 4wd conversion. Hopefully he can give me some more info on how things are set up.
Well, it looks like I'm the biggest dummy here. I locked the front hubs and now everything works great. So I guess that means I have unlockable hubs on an unconverted Tcase? Why the PO would put unlockable hubs on when unlocking them clearly screws everything up is beyond me. Now I'm off to find out why my power steering and power brakes aren't working
