FINALLY!
« on: February 10, 2015, 09:23:49 am »
First of all...Thanks for the add.

Just a note to admin, that question about what takes Charlie Brown's Kite...I was typing in for the longest Kite-Eating Tree as it was in the cartoon. And here it is the answer was just xxxxxx

Anyway...I'm located in the Bahamas and will be inheriting a rust bucket 1985 C10 Pickup in a few days.

My older brother already owns a C10 of the same year but it's a straight bed rather than a flare side. He found a flare side tucked away in some bushes and the owner asked for $200 and he could take it. So he's gonna be swapping the straight bed from his truck to the rust bucket and the rust bucket flare to his truck.

He asked me if I wanted the rustbucket rather than throwing it away as it would be a decent project for me and my 8 year old son. I was a bit skeptical at first, as it will take A WHOLE LOT to bring this truck back, but found that parts prices are quite reasonable for it. So I'll be keeping it providing that the chassis is in good order. There is no interior. The engine seems to be in good condition. There is a lot of rust...so upon deeper inspection, I'll see if it's worth it.

I'll be lurking in the depths of this forum looking for ways to bring this truck back to good health. As soon as I get some pics of the truck, I'll post them!

Welcome from BC.

I guessed the answers to the questions myself. I'm not sure if I got lucky, of the screening is lax but they let me in anyway. /shrug

Yea all those questions were nuts.  I googled for most of the answers.  Then waited several days to get approval.  But hey I'm here now!

I also own an 85 C10.  A little rust but mostly a very solid truck.  Paid 1800.  I'll post some pics soon.  Keep us up to date on your restoration.  Parts are pretty easy to come by and reasonable.  I buy a lot for my truck and usually get quick shipping and excellent customer service if you have a problem.
