bed liner interior

Hey all I am thinking about using a roll on bed liner to do the hole inside of my 84 k10. Has anyone tried this? What kind of prep spray should I use to remove to the old carpet glue that want harm the bed liner later. Also any other prep ideas for a interior bed liner?  Thanks for any advice!

Holly crap I was just about to ask the same thing but I just want to do the floor to get rid of my carpet also I was thinking of using spray cans

Yeah that's why I am doing it no more carpet probably going to do the back of the cab too. So how do I get ride of this glue!

The problem with bedliner is that it can be so rough and trap dirt so bad and it looks ugly.

your supposed to scuff the paint up anyway for the bed liner to stick so use some elbow grease and some scotch bright pads and scuff it up. just make sure no wires will be in the way

Okay I think I figured this out. Duplicolor makes a prep spray part number PS 100 available at AutoZone since I am using the duplicolor bed armor for my cab. I called and asked what to use they suggested there prep spray and it works great. I used 2 cans for my cab and also about 20 Scotch-Brite pads. I also used my da sander on the flat spots with some 80 grit.

I used Duplicolor bed armor on the whole underneath of my truck, frame, suspension, bottom of cab and bed, wheel wells, gas tanks, differential. Looks great, cleans easy. Has been great so far, I didn't use a prep spray either. Just clean, dry and spray.

I will admit it's not the best way to undercoat a vehicle, POR15 would have been better but for the quality of the product and easy of application I'm happy with it. Ide do it again, I'de also use POR15 too.

It's funny you said por15 I was actually thinking about using it to treat some light rusting on my floor pans. I wonder if that will affect the bed liner.

If your going to use POR15, don't use bed liner on top. Don't use POR15 on top of bed liner either. Use 1 or the other, they aren't designed to be used together, but seperately by them selves.

Just thought I would update this for anyone wondering. I did my interior today it took all day because of drying time and doing it in sections. First let me say when doing the head liner you better not wear any clothing you like and wear a painters hat (because you are going to ruin it). Second I found that a paint brush works a million times better then the little roller that comes in the kits.  Also 2 coats are a must!  I may go back and do a third on the floor pans. But after much prep it looks great! I used dupli-color bed armor kit for anyone wondering. I will try and get up some picks later.

I plan to put either Duplicolor liner in my Blazer or Lizzard skin, but the areas where there is just surface rust I plan to coat it with Chassis Saver (POR 15).
I have done this before with no issues.  In this post is Durabak liner over the top of Chassis Saver.  Still looks the same as it did from 2007 when I applied it:
