1976 C10 Single Cab LWB
« on: February 28, 2015, 09:57:30 pm »
Hello everyone. I just bought my first C10 truck. I love the thing already. It is a 1976 C10 Single cab LWB with a SBC 350 and a TH350 transmission. The motor has an Edelbrock Torker Intake and a Holley 600 Carb. The transmission has a Shift Kit in it. Truck is still 90% original and only had 183k miles on when when they swapped the motor in.

It needs a good cleaning but that seems to be about it. Once the weather warms up some im going to spend some time on her. Here is a pic of the Interior and Engine. The old guy used it as a fishing truck so its in good shape. Very minimal rust, only like 2 small dents, missing just a few pieces of trim, and the dash just has a few cracks. the seat and carpet are great except for some dirt. I already got a full set of matching rims. I figure I did good for only $650 considering it runs and drives, came with the toolbox and a spare transmission, intake, torque converter, and tail lights.

Ty...I thought I did good for the price. The guy sold it because it wouldn't shift on its own. that is why he threw in the extra transmission. First I checked was the fluid, almost bone dry. filled it up, she still wouldn't shift. after some googleing I found out about the vacuum modulator. I traced the line from the tranny up to the carb. I found they had a T in the vacuum line for the dizzy and the modulator was plumbed in there. I knew the dizzy needed all the vacuum it can get so I pulled the T off. come to find out the "line extension" they used was a stick from a tree. I took it out, ran the line to the extra port on the carb and she shifts like a dream now.

I want to give it some go fast parts, nothing to major though. Then we are going to repaint it back to the factory paint job. replace all the trim that is gone or missing. Drop it 2/4 to make it sit a little lower. Clean up the interior. Then I am going to use it as a show truck, a burnout truck at car shows, and to haul my little Suzuki to the drag strip.

Welcome from California. Good idea to use diet coke, that stuff taste like crap. Regular coke is liquid gold tho, only place to pour that is directly into my tummy.
