I am already a long way in the process of building my truck. I started with a very nice rust and mostly dent free truck. I think there are a lot of original parts on the truck. I am not an expert when it comes to these trucks. So who knows. I do have part of the window sticker and some of the books that came with the truck! The sticker says it came with a 4 speed transmission. So I would assume thats the 7000R2 or something like that. I am pretty sure it got swapped for a TH350.
What I did today was added some "custom" door pull straps. I made them from youth belts in camo. The headliner I installed is of the same style camo. I figured this would match nicely. I ordered up some chrome covers and steel clamp pieces as I was missing those. I attached a medallion for each branch of the armed service (I know, Marine Corp is part of the Navy ;-) ) Anyway I widdled down the belts until what I had looked to me like a reasonable pull strap.
Just the headliner

Really cool and I like it. It compliments the tan interior.

Hey welcome from california. That is some good work you have there. I really like it. The ideas you have come up with are pretty sweet. Are you planning a patriotic type build?

Thanks. No not really an entire build. For the most part just a red neck truck lol. We have some big flags we fly with poles stuck down in the front receivers of the bed. An American and a Texas flag. I get the Merika comments a lot about the truck. I am hoping to have enough money saved up to drop a 383 in it this summer.
I will post up some pics of the bench seat. I had one I found redone as original as I could. I did have it done it two tone though. The darker bottom edge, the back, and the piping match the darker brown color of the dash. The lighter seating surface blends well with the rest of the cab.
I will probably have some questions for y'all when I start to drop in the new engine. But I think it should just drop right in.

Oh ok cool cool. Sounds like you are doin good so far. I used to fly a big American flag on my tow hitch when I was in high school. Had a redneck sticker across the top of the windshield. That was a while ago tho, my ideas have really changed since then.

As it is today. I had to put a new water pump on it yesterday.
The bed. Tie downs for my motorcycle and mountain bikes. I was thinking about putting in some really nice spray in bedliner. Any thoughts on that?
The dash
Yeah, I know, you wanted a close up of the hulu girl on the dash...
The seat and dash in pic. You can see where I tried to match up the darker part of the seat with the dash.
Under the hood. Still has the stickers and all

New shoes. Went with the 35x12.5x15 Mickey Thompson MTZs. I think it sits just right now. They ride really nice too.
