complete newby where do i start

Just picked up this and maybe it wasnt the best deal but too late now. Got the truck for 500 and the 454 engine for 1000 with 54k miles and 6mo. Warranty. 77 gmc c15 orig. W/305 need some help with tranny crossmember,brackets,driveshaft, bed repair, and ruust prevention. After warranty is up maybe within 2yrs going for 496. Came with carb out of motorhome but I have 750edel. On hand already. Also need help with headers. and want a th44 tranny most of them around here are $400+
Engine is unmoleseted. Lets get started!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thx, will be slow and steady to start off with then we'll kick it into gear. how well do you think a 15k lbs motorhome motor will make a 3k lbs truck move. answer: pretty darn good if you ask me! time for the fun to begin.  thk u irish for the help

sorry its been so long but now I hav a ???? I boiught a th400 and it came with a bolt on yoke and I  need to know what kind of driveshaft I need to look for. please help. are they all 2pc design or is there a one pc

ok big ups to my man, mr ben. here's the game plan tomorrow;

1. tranny front seal
2. tranny to engine
3. tranny crossmember
4. dizzy in engine
5. triple check dizzy alignment and ign. timing, firing order
6. connect batt, starter, dizzy wires
7. fire up (not for long b/c no alt,wp belt or radiator)
8. save money get driveshaft and headers
9. new gauges
10.the rest of the truck ;D
