Trim Problem
« on: December 17, 2002, 09:34:00 pm »
I went the easy way when painting my 85 k10, i left the black and crome trim on, but the crome part is crappy so i want to replace it. But, im afraid it will rip off the new paint. Will it??? If so is there anyway i can get that crap off without damaging the paint? Any help would be appreciated.

No, I taped up the black and crome trim that goes down the side of the truck, and only painted the truck. The trim is shot ( I should have replaced it before I painted it)and Im afraid if I rip off the trim it will take my new paint along with it. Is there a way to remove the trim without rippin of any paint?? If not It dont matter much anyway, Im probably gonna sell the truck, just painted it in August(2002) and I have a few small bubbles in the paint, I wanna sell the truck before it rotts out again. Oh, and its an 85K10 Custom Deluxe.

make sure no paint is touching the trim............run a blade between the trim and body careful not to hit the paint and make sure no paint is touching the trim. if not tear it off.
