first off i know this says 73-87 but im not that far off so i hope someone can still help.
I am dealing with the hard gas pedal issue in my 89 silverado....
Ive read some post and did a few checks....
fist off i unhooked the cable from the TB and went and look at the pedal...after i disconnected the cable from the TB the pedal just fell straight to the floor....can flop it around pretty easy no resistance at all....
while it was disconnected i used the throttle on the carb to open and close the butterfly...it was still pretty stiff but dont seem like it should be that hard to push the pedal.....
When its all attached the initial push of the pedal is very hard and seems sticky throughout the push of the pedal.......also being that its so hard to push it seems to make the truck feel like its not going anywhere...idk bc if its bc the pedal is so hard to push and im tryin not to romp on it or if im loosing power or something....
also i took the air cleaner off looked in the TB...there was some black build up but the butterflies themselves looked pretty clean.....any ideas....
looks to have a holly carb on it unknown model....i dont know a whole lot bout fixing stuff so any input would be greatly appreciated...
its very hard to push and inconsistent throttle response....i feel like i gotta push it to the floor to get it to go anywhere.....
thanks a ton....
