Dash Bezel Question
«
on:
April 17, 2015, 09:37:20 am »
I have a 1984 K10. I want to change my bezel to this.
My question is will I have to mod anything in the dash before I fit this new bezel. IE: gauges, whit gauge housing, lights, hardware, electrical, radio, A/C etc?

The headlight switch is in a different place due to the wiper switch being moved to the steering column is on difference. I also have heard the newer dash pad doesn't line up to the bezel of the 73-80 style.

this is the tach

you would need another fuel gauge out of a cluster that originally had a tach to have 2 fuel gauges

That tach gauge is designed for a diesel correct? If so will I be able to run it in my 383 stroker?

no dont think our diesels ever came with a tach. but a v8 diesel (6.2) would read the same as a 305,350,383,400 or 454. but that dont matter i want to say tachs only came in v8s if they did come in the inline 6 i never seen one specified as v6 I6 or even v8

Ok sounds good. What kind of wiring or sensor would I need if I didn't have one to begin with?

In regards to the dash cover not fitting the bezel, would it work out if I just got a new dash cover for a 73-80?

you just run a wire from the dash to the "tach" spot on the distributor thats your tach signal then you run a 12v switched and ground. idk about the dash cover ot fitting. not sure what you mean by that
these are the OEM tach cluster. you can find them on ebay for a couple hundred

Just wanted to clarify-the diesel trucks had a 4000 RPM tach that had the fuel gauge just below it on the same gauge face. The spot that normally had the small fuel gauge had a vacuum gauge instead.
