Scottsdale vs Custom Deluxe?

so im going to go buy a 1983 Chevy k10 custom deluxe, which i know is the base model. ive always wanted a scottsdale though (even though yes, i know the silverado is the top trim package), so i was wondering what the scottsdale has that the custom deluxe doesnt, and if its possible to convert a custom deluxe into a scottsdale

Body trim, moldings, inside and out, door panel trims, instrument cluster bezels. Mostly just the addition of extra trim or the non existence of said trim.

This is the trim levels from a sales brochure from 1979. It's close, not exact, being curtain pieces are different due to the body changes in 1981 but it gives you a place to start.

I can't say for certain on your 1983 but in 1985 the differences were:

You could opt for the quad headlight package, mine has it.  The seat is more plush and cloth was an option as was carpet.  The Custom Deluxe had black vinyl floor coverings while the Scottsdale was color keyed to interior.  The door panels had a black insert but no door pulls.  The dash bezel was a brushed aluminum but it has a gold cast to it.  It didn't have a head liner or lower carpet on the doors or lower trim on the kick panels.

Scottsdales were only offered from 1975- 1987 via RPO Z62
This trim was a minor upgrade of the base trim.  It had a little more chrome on the outside.  Inside included color keyed floor mat (vs. the basic black noted above, with carpeting only in very special cases) and a choice of "custom cloth" or "custom vinyl" upholstery.  These two seat upholstery choices were shared with the higher level (Z84 and YE9) trim packages mentioned below. Other woven/striped vinyl upholstery selections were exclusively available on this trim level in various years and included carpeting to replace the usual color keyed vinyl mat.  Also, there was a little more floor insulation, and the door panels differed only slightly from base with very minimal wood grain or chrome molding additions.  No headliner.
