1985 Windshield washer hoses
« on: May 01, 2015, 10:12:19 pm »
Greetings,
My squirters work just fine except the nozzles to direct the washer fluid to the windshield from the steel tubes at the base of the wipers aren't there.  What should they look like?  Where can I buy them?  Are they integrated with the wiper arms as I have seen on some cars?  Or are they just designed to redirect the squirter fluid.  Mine washers do NOT go through the hood to a nozzle as some versions do.
All helpful comments are appreciated

you can get "Universal Windshield Washer Nozzle Sets" for around $10....you can probably get them at any of the auto chain stores.  If you want repro parts, you can find them online.....just Google, "1973-1987 Chevy Truck Parts"

'85 was the first year for square bodies to have the nozzles in the wiper arms.

I THOUGHT so!!!

So, do i need special wiper arms for this?
who sells them??
How do they connect to the steel hoses from the firewall.

Now I can look through the catalogs with conviction!!

anyone have a picture of them or a referrence to where I can see one.
Much thanks.

Yes, the wiper arm has a nozzle out on the end and the hose runs to it up through the arm. I have bought them before but next time I am going to find used originals because I didn't like the spray pattern of the ones I bought. I will have to look tomorrow to see how they connect to the washer hoses. I can't post pics because having trouble getting them from phone to computer. Shouldn't be to difficult to find an '85 or newer square to look at in your area. PM me if you can't.

I installed them and they are fine!  They don't look like they're going to hold up well in the Winter,  but I hope to be able to park it during the salt season. ..
