Please take a moment to read!!!
« on: May 04, 2015, 01:37:31 pm »
Ok, i may be posting this in the wrong place and please move if i am.

As some may know my father has been handicapped since 2010 with total kidney failure and loss of his all of his toes. well he was rushed to the e.r last night after having a heart attack with 3 blockages at his heart. he is facing open heart surgery and the doctors are not 100% sure that it will work. between building my club, my samurai and his dream truck i never have enough time or money. i sold my samurai about a month ago to put towards his dream truck. he made a build plan for this truck and i am eager to fulfill it. i have sold alot of my things to try to make this truck happen but i am still coming up short. and i am just not sure how much longer i have to finish it. all im asking is take a few moments to read this link and if you can please help me make this dream come true for my father before its too late. this is no scam or anything as many people on here know me and i am not that person. any help and all prayers will be greatly appreciated!!!!

That would be just as good in my opinion. Things that are needed to get this truck going are

Engine - 350 or 250,292 inline six, as long as it runs.
700r4 transmission 2wd
Suspension Lowering parts
Set of wheels,
Anything else you want to donate, if i dont need it ill use it anyway.

Btw the truck is a 84 c-10 shortbed.

So far i have replaced all brake lines, painted the frame, replaced all brakes, wheel bearings, rebuilt rear axle except for gears just waiting on engine to gear it, fixed all rust in body and got it in primer. And now im at a stopping point until i get the engine and transmission and suspension parts.

250 inline six, came with a turbo 350 transmission but im wanting to put a o.d trans in it as this truck will be driven to cruise-ins, car shows and any where ever my father wants to show it.

i don't know what the build plan is, but it would be easier/quicker to use the inline 6 and 350 trans.  If you're not driving long distances then you don't really need the O.D.

Well i that was the plan. We bought the truck with a bad trans. I changed the oil and tuned it up and while letting it run it started knockin real loud so i pulled the engine and found it spun a bearing. So iv been lookin for a replacement 250 but have not found one under $500 with either 200k miles or been sitting for 5 years which is a ridiculous price. Which brings me here. Around inline sixes are like gold for some unknown reason. Less than a year ago they were everywhere for $200 or less. Even seen a few rebuilt for around $800-$1000

What about Jasper?  See, i'm thinking straight six = bolt in = quick/easy.   i'm going thru this myself---my exhaust will have to be changed from 8 cylinder to 6.

Iv bought 3 engines from jasper in the past and had nothing but problems out of all 3 of them. One of which had to tight of bearing clearances and spun a bearing on first start up. Took me 7 months to get a replacement.

Ok, then crate 350 and complete bolt in exhaust and TH-350 would be the fastest way to get running.
