New Headliner New Dome Lights - Dimmer Question
« on: May 06, 2015, 10:21:43 am »
This weekend I'm gonna take a crack at removing/replacing the headliner in my burb. So I've decided to ditch the original tan interior, and go with a black/gray/charcoal color scheme, and it just so happens that Joanne's fabric store out here is having a killer sale on the fabric I need.

With that said, I plan on upgrading the dome lights from 2 to 8. Simply because I want to see inside the darn thing when I turn my interior dome lights on (all LED of course). One neat little feature I thought would be fun to install would be a delayed dimmer, sort of like what you'd find in any vehicle these days, the trick is, it's gotta be built for LEDs (so can't use voltage regulation).

Anyone know where I can find something similar to this either for sale, or schematics for me to build?

Looking forward to decking this thing out, one rabbit hole at a time.
The bottom line has dropped

I completely removed my interior light. I purchased to eight inch lightbars, I definitely can see inside now. I hope this helps

Well, does that dimmer control and dim the 12v power to the light, or the ground?

Or, actually it might not matter. Once you open the door, it'll ground your dimmer set up. Which should just turn it on and operate.  Dimming soon after. Or am I wrong?
No professional at all. I just dig this type of stuff
