'86 Stock bumpers
« on: May 17, 2015, 07:50:09 pm »
Hey guys so I was wondering about painting a set of '86 originally chrome bumpers black and was curious if anyone has a pic if they have done the same. The only reason I would be doing this is due to rust so I was gonna sand them down and paint it to keep it from getting worse and keep them alive...

Have them sandblasted enough to dull the chrome. Then use an etching primer. Even with sanding the paint won't stick to the chrome very well. Sandblasting will give the primer something to grip.

Sorry No Idea what the paint is, My buddies Dad did it for me. Its just flat black though. So I imagine an Flat Black Auto paint will work good.

No problem, thanks for the great pictures. That's what I was looking for was just to actually see it than try to visualize it
