My truck is a 1978 Bonanza with a small block 400. There is a switch by the fire wall that after I jumped it or attempted to started smoking. Anyone have any idea what it is? Any help is appreciated.

post a picture. sounds like a fusible link or could be the fuse (cant think of the proper name for it lol).
