Need a set of matching 8 Leaf rears for my K20
« on: June 16, 2015, 12:45:56 pm »
I'm having more trouble than expected finding a set of 8 leaf K20 rear springs.  I thought the first junkyard I called would have a multitude, but nay!  I'm in the Columbus area if that helps.. Even a local Chevy only yard didn't have anything.  I'm trying to avoid buying new as their $250-300 on every site I've checked.  I actually only need one pack as the driver side has separated a little and is causing a "bachelor lean" (heard that saying on this site BTW).  Any thoughts on where to look or who might have extra laying around?

Are there any spring shops in your area that can re-temper your springs?

By the time you get done messing around with putting new bushings, & cleaning up used springs the price of new ones isn't bad. I would get them at a local spring shop rather than online. People that work there can give you options for different leaf spring rates etc.

I ended up going online.  I upgraded to HD 8&1 leafs for $198 plus shipping.  If the packs are re-mans they're done darn well, they look pretty much new.  I'm happy with what I got for the price, and didn't have to deal with cleaning up junk yard springs.  Thx for the input gents

I have never heard of remanifactured springs.
I have seen spring shops rearched, & have done the same to springs I have put in wheeling rigs over the years.
I have put used leafs in trucks before, but only because I already owned the truck I took them from. Or because I had a pile of used springs laying around from putting new ones in my plow trucks.
