1984 Silverado Stepside header question
« on: June 17, 2015, 09:13:04 am »
I'm new to the truck community, but not new to the classic chevy car community. I'm looking for some help with my issues and looking forward to helping others with their truck issues.

I want to install a set of headers for my 350, the 305 engine has been replaced with a later 1980's 350 with center bolt valve covers. I have replaced the transmission crossmember with a universal member that have the exhaust pipe hump going over the pipes. I want an exhaust header that will bolt up with minor modifications to the pipes or engine and its area. Please let me know which exhaust header brand you have installed on your truck with very minimal modifications.

I am also looking for the low old school exhaust sound, please recommend the proper muffler for dual exhaust set up that are loud, but not too loud for rural and city use.

Thanks, Chuck

Yes, 2 wheel drive with 350 turbo tranny. The engine is a serpentine belt set up from a 1989 S10 or something similar to it.
I will be checking the post a little later this evening. Thanks!!

There are plenty to choose from, coated or uncoated, long tube ,shorties or block hugger.
I have seen Headmans and they look to fit well.I have Summit brand but don't recommend
cause the coating is not that great
