Looking for help to install new vent wing latch ('81 C10)

My wife purchased a new vent wing latch from Year One as a x-mas present for me. I can figure out how most of it goes together. (despite the lack of instructions) One thing that confuses me is there are two springs and sets of gaskets.. I can understand how one gasket for each side of the window but why two springs.. They appear to be the same size.

Could anybody help me out here?

B.T.W. the old latch was missing when I got the truck.

The spring goes inside the latch for the release button.  I think the kit may come with a spare as I don't remember 2 being in there.

It took a little trial and error but I got it on. Yes, there was a 2nd spring and bushings included in the kit.

I took pictures of the install if anybody wants to see them in the future.
