Since this is your first PCB swap, allow two plus hours to R&I the cluster, strip it down, clean it and reassemble. While you are there, replace all of the 194 dash bulbs or upgrade to LEDs. Burnish the gauge contact clips and bump their tension slightly with a pair of small needle nose pliers. Smear the contact clips with a sparing amount of antioxidant or dielectric grease to help manage oxidation of their connections with the PCB. Probably would be prudent to snap a few front and rear images of the cluster with the lens and mask removed. Manage all of the small screws and clips using an empty egg carton or partitioned parts tray of some sort. Because of its age, the plastic housing maybe somewhat brittle, so handle it gently and don't overtighten screws. If the truck has an automatic transmission, you should also smear a little white lithium grease on the 6" gear indicator cable where it passes over the plastic boss of the cluster to engage the steering column shroud. If the cable has sawed into the boss, carefully fill the grooves with epoxy.
