Tips for polishing hazy cluster gauge cover
« on: September 05, 2015, 02:11:16 pm »
Mine has some yellowing and it's getting pretty hazy. Can I sand it and spray it with a clear coat or is there a repro that is just as good?

They make headlight housing polish that takes the dullness off and restores the clear shine. Not sure how well it works. They also make reproduction covers for them as well.

wash it with soap and water to get all the dust and dirt off of it then use some good auto body paste wax on both sides. do a few wax on wax offs and see how it looks.

it brought mine back from a horrible state. years of people sticking their fingers in there and wiping dust in a circular motion making circle scratches >:(

it might not come out perfect but its easy to try most people have car wax layin around

It's got some cracked mounts so I'm gonna do a repro. I hate losing original parts. Thanks guys.
