H3s are 16" the old military ones are 16.5. but the h2 were 17. but i thought there was something about the offset that made them not work with out trucks?
Interesting. The offset thing I have no idea.

I had a set on my 74.  ran them until I got the steel wheels.  never had much of a problem, actually looked pretty good.  the only problem I had was I had to make sure the center hole had no dirt at all in it.  actually had to run some sandpaper around it a little bit to get them to fit over the dana 44 front hubs.

you know it might just be the h1 that has the offset problems. or more like the military bead locks rims

I thought about trying to figure out a way to physically hold the inner soup can center in the whole so that the soup can and wheel can be put on as one unit that way it's always perfectly centered so there is no weebles wobble.

And then see of I can find a set of those plastic bowtie circles that are on the center caps of the rims on the red truck picture. If I can get those I can put them on the ends of my soup cans and that might make the little difference I'm looking for.

The caps that are held on with plastic nuts that thread on the lug nuts would be easiest and they tend to stay on better, as long as your current lug nuts are conical you can go to the parts store and get the externally threaded lug nuts for your truck and they will work just fine.

Thanks for the input, I knew all of that already. They won't fit on my current wheels because mine use a "mag" type lug nut. They look exactly like this.

Well I found these center cap emblems on flea-bay, they say aftermarket but they also say gm restoration so I bought a set of 4, with shipping it was under 20 bucks so if they don't work out not a big deal. I'm gonna put them on the center of the soup can just to see if they change the look just a little and maybe I will like that and that's all I'll need. They seem nice, cheap experiment, we'll see what happens.

Well these things arrived last Monday but I was on vacation so I didn't get them until today as I had them delivered to work and today was my first day back. They are very nice, seem to be of good quality, pretty sturdy, I didn't try and taco them but I did try to flex them just a tiny bit to see if they were flimsy and they didn't really wanna bend so I think they will be pretty durable to the outside elements.

If you look closely, the silver and gold areas actually look like brushed aluminum.

They are pretty thick and feel like they have decent weight to them.

Self adhesive backing, I hope it's a good quality glue. Don't want them to fall off on the road.

I tried to get an idea of how they look on a wheel but my finger ruins it and I'm trying to hold with one hand and take a pic with the other.

I think overall they will add the little touch I'm lookin for and I may order another set just for giggles.

In thinking about putting these emblems on, I had a thought. These soup cans in the middle have a dimple in the middle. Leaving a fairly large area of space unglued if I just stick them on as is. Won't this lack of full adhesion cause the glue to wear out sooner and fall off?

Is there a way I can fill in this area with something to make a full flat surface so the entire backing of the emblems can be used. I don't want to physically damage the soup cans in anyway like welding and grinding to fill in the space or something. Here's some pics compared to the size of a quarter for easy reference. Also the total  depth is no more than the size of the outer ring of words on the back of the quarter, the part of the quarter that is visible touching the middle of the dimple.

I finally made it to storage the other day. I looked for my old hub covers and couldn't find them. I think I threw them out. I've been trying to reduce the clutter and those must have gone before the broom. Sorry.

It's all good! The offer was nice but I was not depending on it, so not a problem at all. Thanks again tho, I do appreciate it! I know I have some old parts that probably should have seen the circular file a long time ago.

Ok, I never did anything with my current wheels. I changed my mind today, I decided I'm ready for a total change. I want these now, they fit the image of the truck better.

Yes, i was going to recommend those very wheels----the later 3/4 ton aluminum.    i was going to do them myself for my 1/2 ton, but after pricing out the adapters, wheels and new tires it ran about $400 per wheel.  Not worth it in my opinion just have some bling.  So, i'll be riding on stock rims for a while.

i think they are just bolt on for you though?

Yep and I don't need tires so just gotta find a set for the right price. I can do all the dismounting, mounting and balancing at work.
