87 short/fleet 2wd
i need to purchase new tires, the truck currently has 235 75 15
(original size i assume?)
any opinions on going up to 255 70 15 all around vs. leaving the current size?
i checked "tire buyer" and "tire rack"
any others worth checking? for a basic tire i see its going to cost about $100 each all said and done
thanks

when i buy tires i can always find them cheaper than tirerack like walmart, pepboys, some other tire place that has a website or even ebay. you might lose a little mpgs due to the tire being an 1" wider so that gives you more rolling resistance. i dont think it will be too much but it is the only pro/con i see with the tires.

I have 255 70 15's all the way around mine, and like the look better than the stock 235's. I went with Cooper Cobra's, and it cost me $487.28 out the door at a local shop a little over a year ago. I drive the truck regularly, and have had no problems with these tires.

I just installed new tires, walmart- ordered online, $67 each, quality hankook, 235/75/15. My vehicle calls for 225, but its hardly a difference. And...they were hard to find white-walls. The 235's were on sale. Might still be.
