I agree with joec... RUST SUCKS!  I dont tolerate it. Just changed out a rusted battery tray.   Thats a nice project truck, stay with it.

Oh, and new factory oem seatbelts do not exist. Nor do aftermarket lookalikes. Some 73-87 parts they just cant produce. My original belts were so bad they deteriorated and crumbled apart. Had to get black aftermkt. But they do install fine.

I also need that little lip the weather strip attaches too... What body panel is it a part of?

Isnt that actually part of the cab itself, that might be a challenge.  Perhaps check the three letter catalog we dont mention on this site.

If your talking about the lip along the bottom of the door area, that is part of the outer rocker. It also looks like you need a section of the inner rocker( inner rocker is actually part of the outer floor)

Thanks LTZ. I'm impressed that the cab already sounds different when you're in there with the doors closed. Like it might actually be working. I haven't fired it up yet to hear the difference. I need to put the rubber floor liner back down, install the seat, etc.

Which lizardskin product did you use? I'm actually thinking about doing this EXACT same project as I have quite a bit of rust under there and I didn't remember it being that bad. Yours came out quite a bit better than I was expecting. Are you leaving the liner like that or putting the original carper or flooring back over it? I believe I'll need new carpet though cause mine is pretty shot.

I ran across a cheap alternative product for sound deadening and used it on my doors and was very happy with the results. 

PEEL & SEAL aluminum flashing.

The sound deadening has been an improvement, but not as quiet of a ride as I had hoped. Worth it? I can't give it an enthusiastic yes. However, I'll have a better sense of things when I get this new mat installed and holes covered in the high hump. I also still need to finish my AC and put the dash back together. Then I think we'll be able to compare apples to apples. Bottom line, a cell phone call rolling at 65mph is really not fair to the person on the other end.

I did get the new seat belts and seat cover installed. Really like the way the seat turned out. Very disappointed in the retro belts USA.   Crazy that they send that product out like that.
