I've spent most of the morning on this issue and cannot find my answer with either server provider.  Long story short... Moved to a new area with a new internet provider.  Moved my desktop computer from one location to the other, from netnitco.net to att.net.  I am using Windows Live and successfully added my new att.net email address which is working fine.  My netnitco.net only receives email to Windows Live but I cannot send or reply to received emails.  Any help would be greatly appreciated

pop3 servers have a incoming AND outgoing server talk to your provider and find out their settings.

You need to make sure whichever email address your using is using the correct outgoing.

I think you should ditch the provider email and go with a free one from Google, yahoo, etc. that way when you move or change providers you don't have to worry about it.

In regards to your issue, it could be what was previously suggested, or it could be that AT&T is blocking outgoing mail on port 25 (SMTP) which I've seen what some service providers use. Most of the free ones use some type of SSL which is a different port and more secure.

Pretty much what everybody said already, check that att doesn't block port 25 (spammers use 25 for sending junk mail so they may have it blocked by default).  I've also seen providers use non-standard mail protocol ports, I'm guessing as a "security feature".  So double check those settings and confirm att is not blocking.

The story I got from att.net is they don't support my netnitco.net emails.  That said I contacted netnitco and they had them using 587 instead of 25.  Still not working.  I have a yahoo.com and a att.net and both are working fine but I can only receive the netnitco.net emails, just not send them.  The att.net works with the Windows live mail.  It is just I have had the netnitco.net email as my main one for 13 years and everything has gone through that.  Bummer....

Thanks for the replies!!!

Why are you trying to use two different mail accounts with two different ISPs? This will not work.

You could receive emails from BOTH accounts with with your main ISP without an issue but to send emails you need to use the pop3 server that your main ISP is using.

This is why most people give up on using ISP based emails and just switch to google and send a email out to everyone to update their address books and life becomes 100x more simpler.

I hear you.  Change has always been difficult for me, it is an OCD thing.  My main concern with it was that my ebay account uses it and I can't change it because my user name is the same as my email.  13 years ago it was fine for eBay and I am grandfathered in but can't change it to the new one since it is the same.  I'll get used to it.
