Side Molding
« on: February 02, 2005, 10:33:00 pm »
I'm looking to change out the old molding around my truck soon. I was looking in   and they have the roll that you can buy, but has any one used the new side pieces that they have that are pre cut. Looks a little easier to install but a alot more expensive.members.cardomain.com/chuckc26

The   stuff is crap and you'll see that it'll start fading and looking worse than your old stuff after the first few showers. I'd go with the stuff from Chevy Duty or Golden State Pickup Parts. Just my opinion. Hope this helps!

I bought the Chevy Duty stuff I found the black is a little wider than the original and the shape is the same top and bottom. The original corner parts and tail gate piece the bottom rib is a little bigger than the top rib. I repainted the aluminum parts to match the new stuff. I used it on a customers truck and have not heard from him about the quality.

I got mine from my local dealership, it came in a roll and it never faded or anything for the year and a half that I had my 85' swb. I believe I still have part of the roll, not sure how much though. I believe chevy duty has a website....maybe here
