All the windshields are the same. The only differences is that some of them did NOT have the radio antenna inside the windshield glass. They offer these types of windshields brand new, but I've never seen one in real life. That, and whether or not they had that tinted blue band at the top are the only differences in them over the years. Hope this helps.

Like he said they all are the same from 73-87/91.Trucks, blazers, and suburbans are all the same. These are pretty cheap from the glass shops since there were a crap load of these trucks made. I know here in phoenix there are ads in the paper all the time for a new windshields for 73-87 chevys installed for $85.00. So if you haven`t checked any of your local glass shops it might be a good idea. It might be cheaper than you think, and save the frustration of doing it yourself.

I don`t know when gm stopped the gold stripe tint, but when I restored my 66 impala ss I looked into getting a factory gold striped windshield and it was almost $600.00. Needless to say I went with the Blue stripe for about $150.00 installed. So if you can find the gold one it will probably be more $$$.

I have had two out of the hundreds of trucks I have owned and only know of three others. One was at a local car show and the guy said he got it from a local glass shop and it was factory on his truck. There is an old buck in town who has an original gold, and white, 75 3/4 ton, 4x4, 350, TH350, with dirt for miles in his barn that has one, he drives it a few days every summer. ( HE WON'T SELL IT I HAVE BEEN TRYING FOR YEARS ) His ungrateful know it all son will end up with it.The last one is a truck from Cali. I am going to be restoring this summer it needs a windshield as its broken.

Well I called around and my lowest price was $140 for just the materials (glass, gasket, locking strip). So I went to a u-pull-it today and my dad and I popped out a windshield from an '86 in about 5 minutes! Once the locking strip was removed it was a piece of cake. Everything is still in great shape and I got it for $50!

There is a special tool for reinstalling the zipper strip. Your local auto parts store should be able to get it or have one in stock, it makes the job allot easier. If it broke $15 I would be surprised.

Man, I've called around and no one has the tool. Is it necessary?
