PLAIN CHROME REAR BUMPER QUESTION
« on: December 02, 2015, 05:36:41 pm »
Are the van bumpers the same for 73-87 as the trucks?

Ive been searching for an original plain chrome rear bumper(NOT a step bumper) for my '76 C15 Sierra.  It must be original GM with correct bracketry.

Thanks much!

An original??!!  You may only find a ball of rust, or you'll end up paying through the nose.

I think the site store gets all their parts from the General Motors factory in Detroit, MI.

Bumper was at the back door when i got home. Its cold and dark out, have to wait till morning.

Anyway, this bumper is heavy duty, real quality chrome, and back was treated with anti-rust stuff.
Will have trouble sleeping tonight. The box it came in had a blue square stamp on it with GM letters. Made in Detroit, MI. Not sure what that means but oh well.

Did it come with the license plate mount as you have it pictured?

No, the plate braket i had from the other stupid bumper. Cleaned, primered and painted gm gray and put a new lamp assy in it and new stainless screws, nuts and bolts.

The GM bumper box is ummm, well ya see here's the thing--either dog ate it or my kids wrecked it or wife tossed it out. Yeah, yeah that's it.

Ok, ok, no-its not oem. But i'll tell ya, this bumper is of real quality. Not cheapy-china. Much heavier than the oem blazer one. Quality chrome, the real test is how it installs.  First thing in the morning, we'll know.

Looks nice but like I thought, they are made overseas.

I want a real genuine GM bumper.

Yes, join the list. I've been looking for a long time. I've seen a couple painted but none chrome     Gm  new.
Best price on repop was from            Carid. Com        made by AMD. It's made very well.   Still in the box sitting in the garage.

I've got a repop on the front of my blazer  from Goodmark for 14 years now and looks like first day,  it has spent the last 12 years parked indoors when at rest.
