License plate light not wired in
« on: December 20, 2015, 12:07:54 pm »
I just purchased an 85 c20 and the license plate light was not working.  We went to replace the bulb and found the bulb to be fine,  but the wires were not wired to anything.  We do not know where to hook up the wires since it does not appear to have an obvious input anywhere.  We have looked at wiring diagrams and they do not show much.  Anyone able to help with this?  We are trying to fix this asap so that we are not pulled over at night.

There should be a brown wire off the tail lamp sub-harness with a molded plug.  It's tied to the running lamp circuit just behind the bumper.
