Gauge cluster lights 86 C20
« on: December 28, 2015, 12:02:06 am »
Hey all, the other day I changed out my headlight switch, and now my blinker indicators flash backwards and other weird things are going on in the gauge cluster.   Anyone ever seen this happen and if it's the switch, or could it be a problem with the printed circuit board?  I'm pulling the cluster out next week and checking the wiring in dash, just curious if anyone has had this same thing happen before I get under way.

First place I'd check is the instrument panel ground.  Bad grounds do all kinds of strange stuff.

You may have disturbed the ground point on the side while changing the switch. Above the emergency brake there may be a multi ground point. Check you didn't knock any off.

IIRC

My gosh I always forget to check ground!  Tomorrow I'll have time to take a look and let you know.
