a frustrated chevy guy looking for some advice

howdy yall new here my names billy, i have a question hoping can get a answer to. i have a 79 gmc k2500 sierra granda, i am needing electrical parts like the fuse box and underdash harness, gauge cluster, light harness's and engine control harness's. ok so now the question i know that most parts are compatible thru 73-87 but what about a 1986 s10 ext. cab pickup? i have access to pretty much all the parts from the truck would i be able to make them all work with out to much trouble if i was t take everything i.e. steereing coulum for the light switch controls fuse box harness's and all that type of stuff? what about the doors, they will fit right? im asking because i had a PERFECT 1985 gmc sierra lined up to go take parts from and the guy sold it out from under me i seriously allmost feel like crying right now yall i been working on bonnie (my truck) since i was 16 (23 now) and everything i needed to get her competed was coming from this truck and i was SO happy by sunday she would be done :( but now im trying to just keep my mind off of that and hoping i can make parts from this other rig work:( sorry yall if somthign like this has been posted and answerd im just really frustrated right now i mean i even went and rented the dang uhaul pick em up truck to go get all these parts from the donor vehicle its actually very depressing yall but im sure you all have sad storys out there. if yall could lend yoyur advice it would be much apprchiated

Perhaps another donor C/K truck from the late 70's will pop up.

I doubt the electronics would swap, but I'm not sure. They could probably be retrofitted, but my guess is that it would be more work than it's worth. An S10 is a mini pickup, the body parts won't fit. I think you can buy a wiring harness in the store on this site.

They are not gpoing to be the same. You need to find one as close to your year as possible, and matching your trucks options.

You need to get a harness from a 73-87
Shouldn't be to hard to find

They usually get thrown away with the body when it goes to the crusher

Does yours not have any wires at all ?
