leaning cab
« on: September 27, 2003, 09:52:00 pm »
cant figure out what is causing my passengers side cab to lean. Its about 1-2" low. I checked the mounts/bushings didnt seem any worse than the other side. pretty scared my cab is rusting out, could this be a sign of that?

Mine is/was like that too. I replaced the rear rubber mount from another truck, helped a little, im gonna try new ones one day. Could have a bent frame too, but probably the rubber mounts. I heard new ones improve the ride too.

its weird, the bushing doesnt seem any worse than any other one. Maybe ill get my highlift jack out and see if i can raise it up a bit. It squeeks too, right below the passengers feet. Drives me nuts. Like when your doing turns or hills, when the body goes up then down it squeeks/grinds hard.

yeah sounds rotted out to me.  if you look up at the bottom of the cab when laying under the truck can you see any holes in the floorboards?  are the cab supports both in the proper place? the kick panel is supposed to go down to the cab support on the inside then run along the support about half an inch and then go down the outer side of the support.  i bet one side is rusted out and collapsed.

the dashes are just to get it in the right position, the capital I's are the kicker panel, see how it comes down, then goes along the cab support and back down again.  the cab support is symbolized by the !'s and the underscores (____)  the view is from the rear looking forward to the front at the same eye level as where the rocker panel is.
