Interior Screws
« on: February 04, 2016, 09:51:53 am »
Hello everyone,

New member here. I just picked up a 87 gmc 2500 (High Sierra C25). It needs a fair amount of work. The previous owner removed the interior in an effort to restore it. I now have boxes of stuff but no screws!

What are the screw sizes for the guage panel bezel?
What are the screw sizes for the door panels?

Where can i get information on the screw sizes and where can I buy all the screws? I know im also missing the screw retainer clips as well as some plastic clips for the door panels. What did you guys do to replace these screws?

Most are #8's of different lengths. You can get the clips/speednuts at most bolt specialty stores. There are sites on the web for the same also.  Google makes it happen..... :)

For the screws that have special washers built onto them, I usually head to the junkyard and get some. The dash bezel has them.
My local one has a $2 entrance fee and, generally, allows you to grab a couple hand fulls of screws from vehicles without paying extra.
I would do what you can to get new ones, though I have had trouble getting ones with proper heads locally.
