as far as i know a 91 (88+) should have the mast antenna. you can buy splicers to mate the two and in theory get better reception. if your antenna wire grounds out on the body of the truck it will kill your reception. theres nothing wrong with the windshield antenna. and if your windshield has it i would use it over the mast style for one it looks cleaner love my 86 that has it dont care for it on my 91 but i also put a tool box on my 91 with dual whip 5' antennas lol

I think I have to unplug the fender antenna wire from the radio and plug in the one that goes to my windshield then.

Okay I took the dash and dash pad off to find the little snap on the windshield didn't even have a wire so I went to the parts store and grabbed an antenna extension cable and plugged it in and it works!! I guess my truck was originally a fender mounted truck.

Thanks for the help! I didn't know any of these trucks had fender antennas. This poor truck has been rebuilt multiple times and still has a clean title lol!! These things are tough. Now I gotta find nicer speakers that bolt in with minimal work
