need some help choosing tires and rims for 2002 k1500
« on: February 12, 2016, 08:43:59 am »
well the tires on my "wifes" 02 1500 are 6 years old and they have plenty of tread left but the look of them really bothers me. the rims are 6x5.5, i been searching craigslist for the past couple days and found one guy who wants to sell 4 black rims with 305/70/16s

been  chatting with him and he only has 3 of the center caps
heres the post
Hi i am selling 4 American racing wheels with BFG Ko2 tires.
Asking $1100
Wheel size: 16x8.5
Tire size: lt305/70R16 (Basically 33's)
Fits 6 lug chevy.

The wheels and tires are in excellent shape. I've had them for about 4 months so theres still a lot of tread on them about 95%. And one of the tires is brand new. This combo will make your truck look perfectly aggressive. I really am sad i have to sell them but they don't fit on my new truck so i have to get new ones.

hes asking 1100 obo

they dont seam that bad but.... i could get the same tires i just put on my crew cab

and then get new rims

for 250 but theyre 17" and the tires depending on size are either 265/70R17 (31.6") for 675 or 285/70R17 (32.7") for 745. so its either 925 or 995 for the combo. i think i can get a hold of a tire changer and do it myself or its going to be another $100. i could try and talk him down but the BFG's i think are fairly priced.

any one know if the first time i posted (33s) will rub on the 02? or any thoughts?
the only reason i want new rims is cause the others are steel and imo look too bland

small detail i missed, whats the stock back spacing?

found it
Factory GM wheel offset and backspacing:
16 x 6.5” wheel = +30mm positive offset, 5” backspacing
17 x 7.5” wheel = +31mm positive offset, 5.5" backspacing
18 x 8” wheel = +31mm positive offset, 5.7" backspacing
20 x 8.5” wheel = +31mm positive offset, 5.9" backspacing

i just talked the dealer about the 06 dirtymax. i asked why it was so much above kbb. his response was typical and said "Just where the market is trending on these truck they can't be purchased in book value unless it's from up north" so 8k above blue book cause its "trending"
