Yea it's not to terrible. The fuel tank is a cake walk if even just the bed is off and not the cab, if both are off then it is a breeze. The cross member lines are only about as wide as the frame and go on the cross member just behind the bottom of the cab wall, easy peasy. If you can find a decent truck or a few with decent parts, you should have it made. Only thing I would get new if you even want to bother with new would be the valve itself and the switch in the dash of the cab. Unless the wires are damaged, a quick ohm test of the harness and even that could be reused.

After looking at your post, I liked the idea of using your motor hoist to lift the cab off the frame. that gave me the idea to use mine to lift the bed off the truck when I put a Suburban gas tank in my 73.

I actually just removed the bed and used a 30 dollar 1 ton chain hoist from harbor frieght. I hung it off this old A frame welded pipe swing I had found years back. Was way easier than using the engine hoist. I have pics and I'll post them also as soon as I get a chance.

I hunted around town for this part and had no luck finding one. I had a long conversation with the speed shop tech at pep boys about the part though and was told the proportion valve rarely have to be replaced otherwise I'll have to order one off the web. So I decided to keep the original one clean it up and throw some paint on it
Came out nice after being bolted on

Took care of the motor mount brackets & they turned out really well with the paint job they got. I know they look different from what the original were and that's cause of the pontiac 455 it had in it and I know it ran with it in it already so I'm not going to worry about finding chevy 350 bracket. Anyways it came out awesome!
